Florida licensure of health care facilities
Two Florida agencies loom large with regard to the licensing and regulation of healthcare facilities in Florida. Among other responsibilities, the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) has primary responsibility for the licensure of health care facilities in Florida through AHCA's Bureau of Health Facility Regulation. The Florida Department of Health (DOH) possesses independent authority for the licensing and regulation of a limited selection of Florida health care facilities.
